Every dog deserves to enjoy the water — safely. The Safari Paws™ PaddlePup Life Jacket keeps your dog afloat, calm and easy to spot, so pool days, lake swims, beach trips and days on the boat stay happy from start to finish.

Buoyant foam panels wrap around the chest and belly to hold your dog up with barely any effort, while a float under the chin keeps their head and snout clear of the water — a real help for nervous first-timers and tired paddlers alike. A reinforced grab handle sits over the shoulders so you can guide your dog or lift them out in one easy motion, and bright colours with reflective strips keep them in sight day or night.

Why pet parents love it:

  • Real flotation — closed-cell buoyant foam, not just fabric
  • Head-up front float — keeps the snout above water for calmer, safer swimming
  • Rescue grab handle — reinforced and placed over the shoulders
  • Secure, adjustable fit — chest & belly straps with quick-release buckles
  • Seen day & night — bright colour plus reflective strips
  • Light & comfy — low-bulk design so your dog swims naturally

Sizing: available in five sizes from XS to XL. Measure the widest part of your dog's chest and match it to our size guide — chest girth matters more than weight. Between sizes, or neck and chest in different sizes? Size up and use the straps to fine-tune the fit. Choose from Blue, Pink or Orange.

Care: rinse in fresh water after salt or chlorine and hang to dry fully before storing.

The PaddlePup is a swimming aid, not a substitute for supervision — always keep an eye on your dog in and around water. Not the right fit? Reach out and we'll sort a size swap, replacement or refund. 🐾

Made to keep them safe in the water

Whether your dog is a confident paddler or still finding their feet, the PaddlePup does the hard part — so a day at the lake, pool or beach stays a happy one.

Buoyant foam that actually floats
Closed-cell foam panels wrap around the chest and belly and hold your dog up with barely any effort — so a long swim never turns into a struggle.
A front float that keeps heads up
A buoyant flap under the chin lifts your dog's head and snout clear of the surface, so nervous or tired swimmers stay calm and can breathe easy.
A grab handle for quick rescues
A reinforced handle sits right over the shoulders, so you can scoop your dog out of the water, up onto the boat or back to shore in one smooth motion.
Snug, adjustable fit
Two adjustable straps cinch around the chest and belly to match your dog's shape, and quick-release buckles get the jacket on and off in seconds.
Easy to spot, day or night
Bright colours and reflective strips keep your dog easy to see across the lake, at dusk, or from the boat — peace of mind when they paddle out of arm's reach.
Light enough to swim in
A soft, low-bulk build lets your dog paddle naturally instead of fighting the vest — comfy enough to keep on between dips, not just for emergencies.

Find their perfect fit

Measure the widest part of your dog's chest and match it to the chart. Weight is a guide — chest girth is what really counts.

Measure the chest. Wrap a soft tape around the widest part of your dog's chest, just behind the front legs.
Chest wins. If the neck and chest fall in different sizes, go by the chest girth for the safest fit.
Between sizes? Size up. A little room is comfier and easier to adjust than a jacket that's too snug.

Questions, answered

My dog can already swim — do they still need a jacket?
Even strong swimmers tire, get caught in currents, or panic in open water. A jacket keeps them afloat when they're tired, helps a nervous dog stay calm, and gives you a handle to guide or lift them out. It's the same logic as a lifejacket for a person who can swim.
How do I pick the right size?
Measure the widest part of your dog's chest and match it to the chart above — chest girth matters more than weight or breed. If your dog lands between two sizes, or the neck and chest fall in different sizes, size up and use the adjustable straps to dial in the fit.
Is it comfortable enough to keep on all day?
Yes — it's a soft, low-bulk design with padded straps, so most dogs happily wear it between swims. Give a new jacket a few short, positive sessions on land first so it feels normal before the first proper dip.
Is it just for swimming, or boats and paddleboards too?
Both. It's built for pool days, lake and sea swims, boating, kayaking and paddleboarding — anywhere your dog might end up in deep water. The grab handle makes getting back on board much easier.
How do I clean and store it?
Rinse in fresh water after salt or chlorine, then hang it somewhere airy to dry fully before storing — that keeps the foam and buckles in good shape season after season.
Is supervision still needed?
Always. The PaddlePup is a swimming aid, not a substitute for keeping an eye on your dog — never leave a dog in or near water unattended, jacket or not.
